What is a temporary email address?

A temporary email address is an inbox that exists for a short time. You can receive mail at it immediately, with no sign-up, and it deletes itself afterwards.

The short version

A normal address belongs to an account with a password. A temporary address belongs to nobody: anyone who knows it can open its inbox, and the messages vanish on a timer. That is why it is useful for one-off tasks and unsuitable for anything you need to keep.

What it is used for

  • Receiving a verification code or confirmation link.
  • Signing up for newsletters or downloads without spam.
  • Testing software that sends email.
  • Giving an AI agent an inbox of its own.

What it is not for

  • Banking, payments and other regulated accounts.
  • Any account you may need to recover.
  • Receiving private or sensitive information.

How Emailsify does it

Open the site and an address is ready. Mail sent to it appears in the inbox within seconds and is deleted 2 hours after it arrives. There is no account and no password.
